Hi guys! Today I’m reviewing the L’Oreal True Match Foundation. I’ve been using this foundation for years but stopped using it and now I rediscovered a new love for this foundation again. I never did a review on it so why not now right?
When I had the old bottle of this (this is my second one) it was still the old edition haha, that’s how long I’ve been using it! Now I have a new one because the old was in my Project Pan and that’s also how I rediscovered this foundation again and I forgot how nice this foundation is.
I think this bottle looks a lot nicer and cleaner than the old version, I think they did a good job! It’s just a glass bottle with a pump but it looks nice.
The L’Oreal True Match Foundation is of course a drugstore foundation so it’s nice and affordable. Most of the time with drugstore foundations you don’t have a really wide range of shades and they’re all pretty standard, but with this foundation it’s a bit different. The name says it already, true match so they HAD to make a wide range of shades to match the name. The shades are not just from light to dark but also on skin tone, cool toned, warm toned and neutral just like expensive foundations. I have the 1R/1C Rose Ivory because I have a light complexion but also more on the cool side which most of time is hard to find in light foundation shades because they are too warm toned (yellow undertone) but I need a light cool toned (pink undertone) foundation, so I’m really happy they made that as well because this shade finally matches me perfectly! 🙂
They have 20 shades in total which for a drugstore foundation is A LOT! This foundation is supposed to match the skin perfectly, a nice radiant effect without being cakey. It’s super creamy and blendable and looks like skin.
Here I pumped a bit on the back of my hand, you can’t see it really well but it’s really liquide. I think it’s the most liquid foundation I own but that means it would look really natural but a liquid foundation can also be really shear.
You can see that even though it’s really runny it still has some nice coverage.
Excuse the lighting in these pictures, the sun was not being nice to me that day haha. This is me with no foundation, I have freckles, a lot of impurities and my skin overall looks very red.
Here I put on the foundation, my skintone is evened out which is really nice. Some of my spots are still showing but they are really bad so I don’t blame the foundation! Overall my face looks nice and even.
This foundation applies really nice because it’s thin, today I applied it with a brush but it also works nice with a beauty sponge. It looks nice and natural and not cakey but still gives me coverage. The color match is perfect which is rare for me. This foundation also has some problems though, it clings a bit to dry patches and after a whole day of wearing it, it starts to separate and not looking as nice anymore especially on my nose. This foundation is really pretty but it’s not the most long wearing foundation. I still love it because it doesn’t make my skin feel “gross”, am I the only one that feels that way when I’m wearing foundation haha. It’s really affordable so I don’t mind its problems!
I hope you all enjoyed reading and I will see you all next time!
