Hi lovelies! Today I’m going to review the Makeup Revolution Ultra Eye Contour Light & Shade Palette. This is a perfect dupe for the Kat Von D Shade & Light palette. If you wanna know more about this palette, see some swatches and know my thoughts then keep on reading!
This Light & Shade palette from Makeup Revolution in almost an exact copy of the Kat Von D Shade & Light palette, even the names are almost the same. The Layout of the shadows are also exactly the same, the only difference is that this one is A LOT cheaper.
This palette goes from neutral to cool to warm so there is something in there for everyone. The eyeshadows are all matte and are the perfect shades for an everyday look, it’s the perfect palette to contour your eyes with.
With this palette you’ll also get a little brush and I must say that it isn’t even that bad! Most of the time it comes with a really shitty brush but this one is quite decent. It’s a double ended brush and quite soft as well. On one side you have a blending brush and on the other side you have a flat brush to pack on the product. It’s not the best brush ever but it is something you can work with.
Here is a swatch of the top 3 bigger shades. These 3 shades you can of course put on your eyes but are also great to use on your face, you have a matte highlighter shade, a really nice cool toned contour shade and a peachy blush color.
Here are the swatches of the actual eyeshadow shades. The eyeshadows feel really soft and creamy and even though they are all matte they’re still quite pigmented and smooth. They’re all really rich in color which I like.
I also made an eyelook with this palette to show you how the shadows perform on the eyes. I tried to make a nice variety in shades so you’ll get a good idea on what they look like.
I think this palette is really nice, the pigmentation is nice, they blend really well and last long on the eyes. The only thing is, but I think that it’s just me, is that I found it quite hard to do a full eyelook with this palette. It’s not that I can’t work with only mattes but it’s more that almost every shade in this palette is a brown kinda shade. It’s lovely for crease colors and create depth, but I didn’t know which shade to use on the actual eye lid because the eyeshadows all look a bit the same. Like I said it’s not a bad thing about this palette it’s just my opinion haha. I do think it’s nice for crease colors but I think for a lid color I would pick another palette. All that aside I haven’t found a bad thing about this palette, which is pretty rare actually! I think if you are looking to get the Kat Von D Shade & Light palette but don’t want to spend so much that this is a super great dupe!
I hope you all enjoyed reading and I will see you all next time!
