Finally a review! I’m sorry it took so long guys but today I have a really nice product to review so I make it all up to you. I’m reviewing the NYX Epic Ink Liner and I can already tell you that this eyeliner is the best I’ve ever tried! So if you wanna know why and see what this eyeliner is all about them keep on reading!
Everyone is always talking about the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and that it’s super good because it’s not a felt tip but a brush tip liner, but now NYX has the same thing and a lot cheaper! I wanted this eyeliner so badly as they don’t sell Kat Von D in The Netherlands and I’m always looking for a good eyeliner that applies easily and quick without any effort. Now guys, I found my new favorite!
Here it is, this is the NYX Epic Ink Liner. The packaging looks like a standard eyeliner pen, it’s black with white writing on it, I quite like the minimalistic look. This liner is really pigmented and it’s even waterproof, which I really like.
When you open the lid I can feel there is a spring construction in the lid, I don’t know why but I think they do that so the brush tip will stay wet and not dry out as quick. This eyeliner is very liquid so when you push hard it will bleed in fine lines, but when you use it lightly there is no problem.
This is what the brush tip looks like. If you look closely you can see the tiny little hairs. The tip is really thin so you can make nice thin lines. I’ve been using this one quite a lot and the tip is still the same, I found with a lot of felt tip eyeliners that the point gets weak really fast and you can’t make a precise line with it anymore. This tip stays pointy really well and I didn’t find stray hairs (yet).
Here I made some swatches on my hand, I did a really light stroke where I barely touched my skin with the tip and a bolder stroke where I pushed the tip down. Like I already said when you push harder the product comes out a lot more and because it’s that liquid it will bleed a little. It is really black like you can see, even the stroke that I barely touched on my skin!
Here I applied it where it belongs, on my eyes. I always struggle with making my wing sharp and pointy, but with this eyeliner it’s not a problem. It’s not totally matte but I don’t really mind. The skin around my eyes is really thin and with other felt tip eyeliners it always drags and tucks my skin. This one just glides on my eye and I don’t even need to hold my skin tight or anything which is wonderful.
This eyeliner is amazing, I have no words! It’s really nice and black, it applies easy and super smooth so it’s nice if you’re a beginner. It doesn’t tuck on your eyelids and it doesn’t dry out that quickly. They say it’s waterproof, and it kinda is but not that I say wow. You can put water on it or cry, and it doesn’t smudges which is good but you do lose a bit of the pigmentation. This eyeliner stays on really well during the day and I have no issues with a disappearing wing (which I always have because of my teary eyes) but the line on my eyelid itself does disappear a bit because I have oily eyelids, if you don’t have oily eyelids it will be fine though. It’s waterproof but not oil proof haha. It also removes quite well and you don’t have to scrub that hard which is nice. I love this eyeliner and I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a good affordable eyeliner!
That was everything guys! I hope you all enjoyed reading and I will see you all next time!
